Chilean Mining Delegation Visited Finland, Led by SME’s from North Association

PYMES del Norte Association delegation visited Finland – Representing 26 mining companies from Chile’s Antofagasta Region, PYMES del Norte is part of the official mining cluster in Northern Chile.

Impact of the Ukraine War on Delegation Size – Originally, 15 participants signed up for the visit to Finland, but due to global uncertainties caused by the war in Ukraine, many representatives cancelled their trip.

Chilean Mining Delegation Visits Finland

A delegation from PYMES del Norte, representing 26 mining companies from Chile’s Antofagasta Region, visited Finland to explore collaboration and innovation opportunities in sustainable mining. PYMES del Norte is part of the official mining cluster of Northern Chile, a region that plays a key role in global copper and mineral production.

Impact of the War in Ukraine on Delegation Size

Originally, 15 participants had confirmed their attendance. However, due to global uncertainties caused by the war in Ukraine, several representatives were forced to cancel, reducing the size of the visiting group.

The delegation attended Teknologia, Finland’s top technology trade fair, to explore innovations in automation, clean tech, and industrial AI. The program also included company and site visits, where delegates met with Finnish technology providers and saw sustainable solutions in action. These activities opened new opportunities for collaboration and technology transfer between Finland and Northern Chile.
