Finnish Companies Presented Wood Construction Expertise in Chile – over 100 participants

On 21 November 2023, a Finnish delegation participated in a seminar organized by Niina Fu Consulting in collaboration with CENAMAD (National Center of Excellence for the Wood Industry) at the UC Innovation Center, San Joaquín Campus in Santiago, Chile.

The seminar brought together over 100 participants from the construction, forestry, real estate, architecture, and academic sectors, all interested in the future of industrial wood construction in Chile and Latin America.

Finnish expertise was presented by representatives from Honkarakenne, Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects, Himla Architects, AR Forest Consulting, and Aalto University, showcasing how Finland has become a global leader in wood construction through innovation, sustainability, and strong public–private collaboration.

The program also featured a video address from Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, highlighting the Katajanokan Laituri project—one of Finland’s flagship timber construction developments.
