SAWTEC CHILE 2015, held on April 16, 2015, brought together over 110 participants from the sawmill sector, including representatives from 25 sawmills, at DUOC University in Concepción, Chile.

Key Highlights of the Whole Day Event

✅ Workshops by Finnish Technology Companies – The event featured educational workshops conducted by leading Finnish sawmill technology companies, focusing on automation and efficiency improvements in sawmill operations.

✅ Moderated by Ambassador Markus Leinonen – The event was led by the Finnish Ambassador to Chile, who facilitated discussions on innovation, industry best practices, and Finnish-Chilean collaboration in sawmilling.

✅ Main Theme: “How to Automate Sawmill Operations Successfully?” – Industry experts provided insights into automation solutions, strategies for improving efficiency, and the latest technological advancements in sawmilling.

💼 Concrete Business Results: As a direct result of the event, one Finnish company visiting Chile for the first time achieved a business deal with a major Chilean forestry company, and opened their market successfully.

This successful event reinforced Finland’s role as a key technology partner in Chile’s wood processing and sawmilling sector.
