Documentary film about Amália: Niina Fu Was Invited to Join the Team in Unveiling the Queen of Fado’s Unknown Connection to Brazil

Directed by Marcelo Machado, Amalia Document is currently in the planning stage. This project explores the hidden relationship between Amália, the queen of fado, and Brazil, revealing how Brazilian culture influenced her music and career in ways that remain largely unknown.

The film is a co-production between Brazil, Portugal, and Finland, with Anabela Cunha as the producer. Niina Fu was invited to join the production team, where she continues to play a key role in supporting the EU financing application, mapping Finnish sound engineering, and supporting the project’s marketing efforts.

With a rich blend of archival footage, expert interviews, and a deep dive into Amália’s legacy, Amalia Document promises to be a unique cultural exploration, offering new perspectives on one of the most iconic voices in fado history.
